Optical Dispenser/Medical Receptionist

Part-Time: 18-28 hours

What to Expect
We're looking for a welcoming, friendly face to join our independent optometry team as a Part-Time Optical Dispenser/Medical Receptionist. This role is cruicial to the smooth running of our clinic, combining front-of-house patient management with out essential optical support and dispencing duties, for 18 to 28 hours a week.
Requirements For This Role

  • Tuesday afternoons

  • Thursday afternoons

  • Full day Friday

  • 1 year of relevant work experience is preferable but not required

ICU Optometry is a thriving independent optometry practice in Bardon, operating continuously for 30 years. We are a small team consisting of a practice manager, two optometrists and two Assistant Practice Managers, one of whose shoes you will fill.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Appointment book management

  • Communication with patients

  • Optical sales and dispensing

  • Reception duties

  • Keeping the practrice clean & tidy

You will need

  • Ability to work both in a team and independetly

Optical industry experience is preffered. On the job training will also be provided, as every optometry practice is different. We do not use KPI’s - we believe that the most important parts of how you relate to out patients cannot be reduced to a few simple numbers.

We offer a competitive hourly rate. No Sundays and no evennings. The position is currently offered for 18 hours per week, but we expect that that will increase to 26 hours later in the year.
