Orthokeratology and Myopia

Orthokeratology contact lenses can put an end to the annual ritual of upgrading your nearsighted child’s specs because they need a higher prescription. 

Orthokeratology (or Ortho-K) lenses give complete freedom to participate in sport and swimming activities without having to worry about specs or contacts during the day. They are worn overnight and removed in the daytime, leaving you or your child with clear vision.

Even better, independent studies have repeatedly shown that ortho-k lenses drastically slow the development of short sightedness in children and teenagers - and sometimes even halt it altogether. If ortho-k is not suitable, we can often use other techniques to achieve the same goal. 

Ortho-K is also suitable for some adults who want freedom from daytime vision correction.
