Andrew Robinson, Optometrist
Andrew became a partner at ICU in 2010 after gaining his B.App.Sc (Opt) from QUT in 2006, followed by his Grad.Dip. in Ocular Therapeutics the following year. His particular areas of professional interest include children’s vision, orthokeratology, and specialty contact lenses, and he has spoken on several occasions at optometry conferences. He is a member of the Queensland Children's Hospital Eye Clinic's Paediatric Optometry Alignment Program, providing a direct communication link with the clinicians of the LCCH Eye Clinic where necessary.
Andrew maintains an ongoing interest in educating the next generation of optometrists, acting as a clinical supervisor to final year students both at the QUT clinic and at ICU. He has spoken on several occasions at optometry conferences.
In a previous life Andrew was an award-winning orchestral conductor, leading the likes of the New York Ballet and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. He still waves a stick or blows his flute in public from time to time. He now lives south of the river with his family, indulges in all things mathematical, scientific and generally nerdy, and is a keen (though not especially fast) cyclist.
